The South Highland Bridge will temporarily close Monday, March 4 for bridge improvements. Check here or the Pittsburgh Federal Projects website for information!

The stone abutments and center pier of the bridge will be rehabilitated and reused. The bridge deck will be replaced, improving the vertical clearance over Ellsworth Avenue. The bridge will be a more open vista for pedestrians and vehicular traffic crossing the bridge.

SCHEDULE
Close Bridge/Implement detours: March 4, 2013
Re-open to Traffic: September 10, 2013
Complete Construction: September 13, 2013 

DETOURS
The 71B – Highland Park and 75 – Ellsworth buses will be detoured during the duration of the project. Some stops will be discontinued during construction, but some stops will be added.
