We have a new face on the ELDI team this month! Say hello to Grace Edwards, a student at the University of Pittsburgh who will be helping us with our work to revitalize East Liberty’s commercial core.

Edwards will work under Stefani Danes, an adjunct architecture professor at Carnegie Mellon University and consultant leading this project (more on that soon!).

Get to know a little about Edwards and what she’ll be working on in our Q&A below.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from and what are you majoring in?

I am from Maryland but moved to Pittsburgh for college. My major at the University of Pittsburgh is Public and Professional Writing, which encompasses business writing and marketing. I hope to go into the field of marketing, due to my skills of writing and design, which I have honed throughout my university career.

What will you be doing in your time with ELDI?

I will be completing several writing, administrative, and research tasks, including lending my writing towards newsletters and articles. I am very excited to test the skills I’ve learned during my degree in a fast-paced business environment and hope to make positive contributions to the East Liberty community!

What’s your favorite thing about East Liberty?

My favorite thing about East Liberty is the many shops and bakeries there are to visit. I also love how walkable and accessible the area is. It is very fun to come with friends on a nice day!
